002 Hard Thinking Light and growing life, beauty and blossoming, live within the darker structures of this brain. It’s how I paint or write. To discover a poem or picture, I must drop out of any world-trained educated judgments, forget all analytical, driven, goal oriented, correctively critical thinking and drop into a place of spirit. To find a good poem or picture, I must forget safe conventionality and venture from the known into the unknown. I start from what concretely is and search for what isn’t. It’s an exciting, freeing, yet trustful place of rest upon the edge of a realm where real-time sequences, causes, effects, comparisons and respectabilities melt away or bend into new shapes. When peace comes, I stop painting. If I’m not peaceful, I keep painting. I painted over this tree many times on many different days until it felt finished. While painting the preverbal and subconscious, I don’t always know what a painting means—if anything. Sometimes, not always, understanding comes later. This picture might be a darkened mind setting itself on the Holy Spirit and being transformed and renewed as God’s thoughts begin to shine upon the branches. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. Isaiah 55:8 ESV For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. Romans 8:6 ESV Or, it might be a bouquet of life and beauty, of creativity and revelation, growing in the light that penetrates the darkness. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness can never extinguish it. John 1:5 ESV Surely it is a visual reminder that God calls us . . . to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, Ephesians 4: 23 #jesus #love #faith #worship #praise #holyspirit #holyspiritcome #worshipleader #god #godslove #godsloveneverfails #isaiah55 #romans8 #john15 #ephesians #ephesians4 #biblejournaling #bibleverses #trees #life #transform #beauty #painting

Shift. My One Word for 2019. New people. New places. New schedules. New pleasures. New surprises. And none you were expecting! When you shift, some people will shift with you. Some won't. When you shift, your plans may shift into unexpected changes. How to shift: Shift with God. Trust him to lead you into where he wants you to be. You will have all you need. "May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think" (Ephesians 3:19-20).
When you think about the world in these times that we are living in, it isn’t hard to see that there is a huge amount of suffering going on. Warfare, poverty, innocents suffering, etc. It can leave us wondering: when will it all end? How long can God allow this to continue? But there is something that we can do to shorten these evil days. “Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God …” 2 Peter 3:11-12. It is through the fear of God that we can hasten the coming of the day of God. With the strength and guidance God gives us by the Holy Spirit, each one of us can live without committing conscious, willful sin. With that strength and grace, we are able to overcome sin in our flesh when we are tempted, to the degree that we are obedient to the light and understanding that God has given us. The more faithful and obedient we are, the faster the work He has prepared for us will be accomplished. (Ephesians 2:10) By this “holy conduct and godliness” we hasten His coming. -- Follow the link in our bio @activechristianity

I finished studying Ephesians today and I just wasn’t ready to put it down. . . Ephesians is where our wedding verse is from and it is the book that God has persistently been putting on my heart for the last few months. . . Ephesians has filled me up so much it feels like it’s pouring out of me: the truths, the beauty, the direction, the knowledge and guidance within it. . . I wanted to take a moment and share just a tidbit from my prayer journal around my reflections on Ephesians 5 originating from “submit to one another” Ephesians 5:21. . . “how beautiful and powerful that is when we look beneath today’s modern definition and we dig into the text of Ephesians. How detailed, to a T, is our God? He looks at every single detail and He gives us every single answer that we need. Each question that the world gives us, each question that arises through our life living in this broken world, all the answers are in the Bible. There is a manual to live our life, it’s the Bible. There is an answer to every question, it’s the Bible. There’s a roadmap to get to the destination in which you desire, it is the Bible. Stop seeking in the world, start listening to the Word. ☀️❤️ . . Thank you Ephesians for a beautiful journey 🙏 #ephesians #theword #shereadstruth #submit #truth #love #grace #themessage #guidance #answers #marriage #beating50percent #husbands #wives #christian #beauty #friday #timeintheword
Lord, I’m in a battle, one that I can’t win on my own. Guide and protect me with your Word against the crafty schemes of the world and the devil. May I ever be vigilant, by the power of your Spirit, in the face of temptation. Amen. #armor #God #Ephesians #schemes #temptation #Bible #youversion

175 days until two shall become one flesh💍🔜👰🏻 What a blessing it is to work through this book & pray for my sweet fiancé & our upcoming marriage! ➰ I didn’t always feel this way though. ➰ For months, I had felt a strong conviction to pray but it felt like a foreign concept. I was raised in a non-Christian home, so where was I even to begin? What was I supposed to pray about? & how do I pray? It all seemed so overwhelming, but it was heavy on my heart. This February, I was invited to join my second bible study & was greeted by the movie War Room. Let me tell ya, God works in wonderful ways. We soon began reading Fervent & I cannot even begin to tell you how much my relationship with the Lord has changed. Not only did I learn how to pray fervently & strategically, but I now do so excitedly! There I was anxious & confused & He provided exactly what He knew I needed. Ephesians 3:20
Put on your full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the Devil’s schemes. - Ephesians 6:11 . #brothersofmerit
Gentleness should not be confused with weakness. ⠀ ⠀ It does not mean being pushed around or taken advantage of. In fact, weakness in the flesh, such as bitterness, hardness of heart, harshness, and vengefulness are all incompatible with gentleness. ⠀ ⠀ Gentleness demonstrates great strength in restraining the passion of anger and subduing harshness, roughness, and violence.⠀ ⠀ Being gentle means taking great care with actions and words, being tender-hearted and soft in manner. ⠀ ⠀ It is a fruit of the Spirit, and is something the believer can choose to put on (Colossians 2:12). ⠀ ⠀ Gentleness starts with meekness. Meekness is a humble attitude of mind and heart, enduring wrongdoing with patience. ⠀ ⠀ The meek are "quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger" (James 1:19-20). ⠀ ⠀ They are submissive to authority, speak no evil, avoid quarreling, and show courtesy (Titus 3:1-2). ⠀ ⠀ They show respect for the dignity of others, even if their circumstances do not merit it, as Jesus did with the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4) and the woman caught in adultery (John 8).⠀ ⠀ From Parenting in Christ: Treasures for Parenting From Jesus⠀ ⠀ When is being gentle most difficult for you?⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .
There were times when I had a lot of doubts, depression, and deep insecurities - about who I am and who I am meant be. I had a lot of fear in pursuing my passion and dreaming big dreams. Fear makes us stumble, second guess ourselves, and avoid moving forward altogether. But it takes more than finding strength and confidence within to overcome...it takes faith. __ Faith conquers fear when you fear God more than you trust yourself! One of the big reasons why we have doubts, low self-esteem, and so much fear is because we try to rely on our own strengths to overcome. We simply can’t do it alone. It requires great courage and trust to take that first step out of the boats of our comfort, and walk towards Christ. “You of little faith...why are you so afraid?” Matt. 8:26 __ When you realize you have The Creator of the universe to trust in, who loves you more than you can ever imagine, what do you have to be afraid of? #DailyBread #JxySpiration
