We are thrilled to introduce this week’s ACS Ocean Heroes and Cetacean Advocates: the ACS National Board of Directors! The American Cetacean Society’s National Board of Directors consists of individuals with diverse professional backgrounds and affiliations who bring to the governance of the organization knowledge of conservation science, whale watching, business, finance, education, the arts, and public policy. These eclectic interests are united by their passion for cetacean protection and their desire to advance a new paradigm in marine education, research, and conservation. They are the heart and soul of ACS and work tirelessly across the country to keep things running smoothly together while also being active advocates for cetaceans in their respective communities! Our board of directors work hard everyday for the betterment of cetaceans, but have been especially busy this past weekend-attending the annual director’s meeting. The group all met in California at the ACS building to catch up and plan for another exciting year of whale, dolphin, and porpoise conservation and research! Check out these photos of the group having fun and getting a lot accomplished (we promise!) this past weekend in Cali. Meet the ACS National Team: Uko Gorter, National ACS President and President of the ACS Puget Sound Chapter; Diane Glim, Secretary and Past ACS National President; Joy Primrose, Treasurer and President of the ACS Oregon Chapter; Sabena Siddiqui, Board Member and Student Chair; Jayne Vanderhagen, Board Member and President of the ACS San Diego Chapter; Robert (Bob) Wilson, National Board Member and Board Member of ACS San Francisco Chapter We are so lucky to have awesome people like Uko, Diane, Joy, Sabena, Jayne, and Bob as part of the ACS “pod” who are stewards for the ocean and dedicate their lives to researching and conserving cetaceans and their habitats! Stay tuned each week to learn about another ACS Cetacean Advocate! - - - - - - First group 📷: Top row: Uko, Bob, and Sabena; Bottom row: Jayne, Joy, and Diane

Talk about Tuesday’s! We started the day off at @sanantonioacs
learning about what the ACS is doing to help promote responsible pet ownership and reconnect animals with their homes. CivTechSA is working with a class that is developing an application to help all of us become animal rescuers! . . We then traveled over to Wagner High School where students from @wagner_tstem
are building their own cities from the ground up. They were joined by members from various city departments who assisted them in planning for the best cities possible. S/O to the @cosagov
