Battling KNEE VALGUS. Knee falling in (knee valgus) is an indication that the glutes mis-fire or do not fire at all and quads (VMO in-particular) when landing or jumping. This is costing many good players a lot of time off the court. Amongst the common injuries this may cause are the Jumpers Knee, Patelo-femoral Syndrome and IT Band Syndrome (all chronic injuries) and the most notorious acute basketball injury of them all ... the infamous ACL tear!! • Try this drill if you have knee valgus. Here we feed the issue with the small band around the knees so that we pull the knees in and cause this athlete to “switch” the GLUTES ON and align his knees with mid-toe. Althou, done in a DYNAMIC setting the drill is done very methodically and deliberately slow. Looking to re-wire your athletes, this is it! It is also an introductory drill for: ➡️multi-directional movement ➡️bi-lateral foot take off ➡️bi-lateral foot landing ➡️accuracy/foot displacement • Give it a try. Great drill! Athletes will be at their weakest, slowest and most inefficient levels at the times when they need to be at their best! This hurts their performance and even worse, can expose them to greater risks of injury!

Periodisation is the key to growth. Number one factor of growth is volume however don’t forget about the intensity. Switching From high volume training where the load is 90-110% to high intensity training where the load is 40-60% with higher intensity where I focus more on performance than weight from 2-3 hours session to a dense 45-90 minutes session to perform, utilising bands and chains to psychologically put myself under stress(short term stress *cortisol* another factor to growth) to perform and be better . Improving my ability to think faster under load and prime my body for heavy lifting. Higher reps gives my joint, fast twitch muscles fibre also nerves system rest and time to catch up while my slow twitch muscles growing and cardiovascular system improving. utilising few methods as intensifier to ensure growth and recovery. Train smart, then train hard not only train hard.
