Specialising in Cantonese Pastries, the signature item at Tong Heng is their Egg Tart, which is entirely made by hand and dairy-free 😋
The Tart Base is made of two types of dough: the Oil-base Dough and the Water-base Dough. After chilling the moulded Tart Base overnight, the Egg Wash is added, and the Tarts are being baked 🌜
The result: A flaky Egg Tart with a thin, crumbly base. The shell is well caramelised, and it holds its shape well. The Egg resembles a soft and smooth custard: light with good flavours. We love that Tong Heng is generous with the amount of Egg Wash that fills each Egg Tart 👍
4th generation owner, Ms Ana, is determined to continue the family legacy. She renovated the Chinatown Shop, introducing bright colours to create a vibrant ambience that appeals to the younger generation. She also introduced Desserts (e.g. Red Bean Soup, Egg Pudding, Snow Fungus Soup etc) to the Menu, and they are well-received 👩🍳

Pear and Gorgonzola Pizza .
5 garlic cloves, halved
1 Pillsbury pizza dough
3 Tbsp salted butter
1 pear, halved and sliced
1/2 white onion, sliced
1 tsp kosher salt
1 Tbsp olive oil
2 cups shredded mozzarella
1/2 cup crumbled Gorgonzola
1/4 cup chopped macadamia nuts
2 cups mixed baby greens
1 Tbsp ranch dressing .
1️⃣ Heat oven to 400°
2️⃣ In a sheet pan add garlic and drizzle with olive oil and season with salt. Place garlic in preheated oven for 15 minutes flipping half way through. Once garlic is roasted and browned set aside.
3️⃣ Spread pizza dough on pizza stone and cook dough for 8 minutes until almost cooked through.
4️⃣ In a skillet heat to medium heat and melt 2 tablespoons of butter and add sliced pears cooking for about 6 minutes until pears have softened, you don’t want to brown the pears. Set pears aside to cool.
5️⃣ In the same pan melt additional 1 tablespoon of butter and lower heat to medium/low. Add sliced onion to the pan with 1 teaspoon of salt and cook down until onions caramelize. This will take about 15 minutes. Make sure to stir periodically to prevent onions from burning at the bottom.
6️⃣ Grab your pizza crust and drizzle with the olive oil spreading all over the crust. Sprinkle mozzarella all over pizza, top with caramelized onions, pears, roasted garlic, Gorgonzola cheese, and macadamia nuts.
7️⃣ Place pizza in the oven for an additional 10 minutes or until the dough is cooked through and crispy at the bottom.
8️⃣ While pizza is cooking toss mixed greens with ranch dressing.
9️⃣ Once pizza is completely cooked through cut pizza and top with dressed greens. Enjoy!

When in reality, we always have a choice. ⠀
Eating fast food doesn’t have to mean eating crap. ⠀
There are healthy options out there, you just have to be willing to look for them. 👏🏼⠀
This sandwich right there is 100% meal plan approved and it only took ten minutes to pick up on my way home. 💁🏼♀️
• sᴄᴏɴᴇs ᴅᴇ ᴘᴀʀᴍᴇsᴀɴᴏ ʏ ʀᴏᴍᴇʀᴏ •
Atención amantes del queso anoten esta receta que es un éxito! ⬇️
🔹Hacer un arenado con 50 g. de manteca bien fría + 250 g. de harina 0000 + 5 g. de sal + 2 cditas. de polvo de hornear. Para hacer el arenado simplemente frotar la manteca suavemente con los dedos junto con la harina sin tocar con la palma de la mano para no trasmitirle calor a la masa.
🔹Agregar 100 g. de queso parmesano rallado (podés usar cualquiera de cáscara dura en la misma proporción tipo reggianito, sardo, etc.) + 125 cc. de crema de leche + nuez moscada + pimienta + 3 cdas. soperas de queso crema. Por último agregar romero picado. Yo usé fresco pero podrían usar seco también la cantidad es a gusto.
🔹Unir la preparación sin amasar. Como todas las masas que llevan manteca la idea es tocarlas lo menos posible para que después no quede duro el resultado final.
🔹Estirar la masa y hacer un doblez como si fuera un libro. Tapar con film y llevar a la heladera por 40’.
🔹Cortar triángulos o la forma que más les guste. Pincelar con huevo batido, espolvorear con queso rallado y llevar al horno a 180 grados por 20’ aprox. ⚠️ Precalentar el horno por 10’ antes de cocinarlos.
Las proporciones rinden 7 scones bien bien grandes como los de la foto. Si necesitas más podés hacerlos más chicos o duplicar la receta si querés del mismo tamaño.
No tienen desperdicio.. Espero los prueben y me cuenten qué tal les quedaron! ♥️

“Snooniyeh” or “Aseeda”.
It's called snooniyeh from the Arabic word "أسنان" which means "teeth", because vibrant bowls like this one were served to celebrate the beginning of a toddler's teething stage! It's nutrient-packed, extremely filling, low in calories, and packs a punch of flavours and textures. It's naturally sweetened with honey and can even be topped with honeycomb which would compliment the pistachios perfectly. 😍👌 We grew out our teeth a long time ago 😂 but we still love to enjoy a bowl of these beautiful ingredients for a nutritious breakfast or even as a satisfying snack!

1 cup grains of wheat or barley
Nuts (Pine nuts, Slivered almonds, Pistachios, walnuts)
1. Soak Barley or wheat grains overnight in water
2. The next day, cook grains by boiling them till tender
3. Place desired serving of barley in a bowl
4. Add ½ tsp of Rose water to the grains and mix in
5. Sweeten the grains by drizzling a table spoon of honey
6. Mix in nuts, raisins, and pomegranate arils
