Do you hold your self back from your true potential? Just this week I attempted jumps on the high step. I always thought it would be too hard. I worried about my shins. But @danyellesjourney pushed me to try. I couldn’t believe I was able to do it with some room to spare. Today I was able to do 3 1/2 rounds of 10. This has made me think all week about how we as humans often hold ourselves back. We think that we will fail. We don’t think we are good enough. But what if we tried? What if we just jumped in? Or up? i’m a thinker and I’ve been thinking a lot about how this is reflected in many aspects of my life. My marriage, my business, friendships… But I don’t have to keep it that way. #jumphigher

Hey, Everyone! What a week! I hope it was AWESOME for all of you. Sometimes we forget that we create our own reality: what we allow, what we condone, and how we react. I know that I have created a lot of anxiety in my own life simply by the way I perceived my own progress (or lack, thereof) and how I have responded to it. ⁣ ⁣ As women, we demand a lot of ourselves. Is it because we are expected to be/look "perfect"? Are we hard on ourselves because of the expectations of others or because of what we perceive? I remember speaking with someone about the things she says to herself and how she berates herself for the things she "should" be doing. She wouldn't talk to her worst enemy that way! ⁣ ⁣ The quote, above, is something I wrote down at a recent event given by my mentor, @ginadevee. She says these gems every so often and they roll around in my brain until they "spark." Well, the spark has been lit and here's what I'm thinking: ⁣ ⁣ How about we talk to ourselves like we would our best friend? ⁣ ⁣ How about we give ourselves some grace and love our imperfections?⁣ Why don't we give ourselves permission to be 𝙙𝙖𝙯𝙯𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜, no matter what we think others might think of us?? ⁣ ⁣ Why not dazzle yourself in 2020 by giving yourself the life you were MEANT to live?⁣ For me, that means eating for health and eating for nourishment in a pleasurable way. Face à la dépression saisonnière 🍂 , gardez le moral avec la luminothérapie ! Le manque de lumière 💡 agit directement sur notre humeur; une personne sur cinq est affectée par ces troubles hivernaux. La luminothérapie est, dans ce cas, une alternative ou un complément efficace aux traitements médicaux classiques. Elle l’est aussi en cas de baisse 📉 de régime ou dérèglement de l’horloge biologique interne. Pour bien choisir sa lampe, il faut privilégier les lampes émettant au moins 10.000 lux. Une exposition quotidienne de 30 minutes à proximité de la lampe, de préférence le matin, suffira à maintenir l’équilibre sérotonine / mélatonine, et à éviter tous ces troubles bien désagréables. Want to know what made me realize that I was creating my own problems with food and lack of self worth? When I FINALLY saw that I was willingly handing over my power to FEAR. Fear of certain foods making me gain weight. Fear of being judged for looking (or not looking) a certain way. Fear of not appearing to have the "perfect" diet. Fear of not being the HIGHEST example of health for my patients, friends and family. I was a nurse after all, and I should know better, right? Y'all my fear ran SO DEEP. I've talked about it before, but ultimately my deepest fear is being invisible, unloved, uncared for and getting left behind. All my behaviors centered around trying to alleviate the uncomfortable feelings that this fear thoughts generated. Once I was able to FULLY SEE that I was the cause of my own problems, I was able to start changing. But that "seeing" part isn't always easy. You'll want to deny it. Deflect. Blame your spouse, the kids, lack of time, lack of energy, aka allllll the stories you've told yourself as to the reason why YOU can't take action. STOP handing over your power. Face yourself. Yes it will be scary. Yes it will make you question who you are. Yes it will bring all your shit right to the surface. That's ok. THIS is how real, true change happens. Once you own it all, you can channel your power to move forward, rather than handing over your energy which keeps you stuck and stagnant. Failings with food is a symptom my friends, of something much deeper. But if this is your struggle, it's not something you can bypass. It has to be dealt with. As always, I'm here. Whats you're favorite fruit? I've loved pomegranate since i was a kid.. Kind of traditional being Persian however recently in my studying I've found out how beneficial this fruit is plus all of its antioxidants rich flavors & health benefits it provides.
