OMG..I swear, I know I won’t be the only one doing this, but I swear when I watch the remake of Lion King I will stand up for the anthem!! You know what anthem I’m talking about! I don’t think there will ever be another movie with an opening that gives me goosebumps every single time! Also I’m so glad that 11/14 of the cast of this precious movie are people of color, specifically Black/ African Americans! . The excitement is unreal! Maan, I’m so sure every 90s kid growing up loved Lion King but it taught me about life. I remember watching it in an assembly in school. I was probably 8/9 or something, growing up in ghetto neighborhood and it was during a very difficult point in my life. And this movie taught me about family, about moving forward, about protecting the ones I love most, about sacrifice, about love, about friendship and about being fearless. The scene where Rafiki holds Simba up, and puts the red mark on his forehead reminds me of what my mom does for me on special occasions. I can totally imagine myself real enacting that if and when I become a mom someday! God bless that child lol! . . I’m so excited to watch it again! I can’t wait to relive my childhood through this movie with the people I love! Me and my sister we’ve been singing the opening of the movie for as long as I can remember. We literally stand in that posture! I can’t wait! I can’t wait!!!! I can’t wait to hear my heart pounding in my chest, to cry, to reflect and to feel at homeee! If you haven’t watched the trailer! GOOOOOOOOOOOO . . . .
