By now you understand that to develop your back, you need to row, and you need to row a lot ( pretty sure the ratio is 3:1 pull to push). Also, you need to row from different angles to hit different muscle fibers. . You also know that actually moving the shoulder blades on the rib cage is what’s really getting those back muscles to work( retraction and protraction). . Here’s a new row variation I experimented with today. . This exercise isn’t for ego lifting, it’s meant for increasing Mind-muscle connection, and really feeling the muscle contracting and lengthening with every repetition.. . When I practiced it with zero load before I added weight, my lat muscle cramped up lol . Position yourself on a bench so that your low back is flat and core is braced. Notice how I abduct the thigh that is on the bench and kept my hips even. . You’re going to pick up a *light* dumbbell, row, and then slightly rotate from your upper back and focus on tucking the elbow close to your torso. This tremendously increases mid lat tension, and you should be feeling the muscle contracting like crazy. . Go slow, and shoot for 10-15 reps per side. 3-4 sets. I’d program these first thing in the workout. . Thank you to my strongass girl @phaygasis for making sure y’all can see how my back is flat and my hip are even from the back🍑💁🏽‍♀️ . Just under 3 weeks left in my transformation challenge and I would say it’s time to turn it up if I wasn’t turned all the way up since day 1 Trained by @corey_lindner Workouts fueled by @bpi_sports • Incline Bench Press ▪ 5 sets total with gradual weight increase. ▪ First 4 sets hit 8-10 reps, and finish with a heavy final set of 6-8 reps. • Flat Bench Press ▪ 3 sets light to moderaye weight, 12-15 reps. • Decline Bench Press Machine ▪ 4 sets total of light to moderate weight for 12-15 reps. • Incline Dumbbell Press ▪ 4 sets with a weight increase of 5 lbs. each set for 8-10 reps. • Flat Dumbbell Press ▪ 3 sets with a weight increase of 5 lbs. each set for 8-10 reps. • Slight Incline Dumbbell Flys ▪ 4 sets with full stretch/extension and a hard squeeze for the inner/upper chest at the top of each rep. ▪ Moderate weight for 8-12 reps. • Seated or Standing Forearm Curls (dumbbells or barbell wrist curls) ▪ 2 sets with light to moderate weight for 10-15 reps. • Preacher Curl Machine (both arms same time) or Dumbbell Preacher Curl (single arm) ▪ 4 sets total starting with light weight at 10-12 reps and increasing to heavy weight at 8 reps. • Standing Dumbbell Bicep Curl (alternate arms each rep) ▪ 4 sets total starting with moderate weight at 10-12 reps and slowly increasing weight each set, hitting 8 reps for the final set. • Dumbbell Hammer Curl ▪ 4 sets total with moderate weight for 8-10 reps. ▪ Hold the rep at the top of each hammer curl for 1 second before lowering arm down. • EZ Bar or Barbell Curl ▪ 4 sets total with light weight for 12-15 reps (final set burnout) ▪ Do not compromise form and bend over too much or throw your body weight.
