If you want to lose weight and get fit, you need to begin by letting go of your old habits, your mindset, your old self. Today while I was getting my laser treatment the nurse asked me what my plans were for the day...I told her I was gunna get some work done & she said “I thought it was your day off” I told her I run a side business & she asked what it was...⁣ ⁣ Unfortunately this can be a dreaded question for network marketers.⁣ ⁣ Typically I would say “just an online coaching business” and quickly change the subject, worried she would ask more questions and I’d need to explain I work for a network marketing company.⁣ ⁣ But this time without even the slightest hesitation I replied and said “I help people by setting them up with a health and fitness routine and also mentor girls on how to run their own business through a network marketing company called Beachbody”. I was so proud to explain it all to her and she thought it was the coolest thing.⁣ ⁣ The more I thought about it I realized why it just came out...⁣ ⁣ Because why the eff would I be ashamed or embarrassed about a business that allows me to HELP people & at the same time has literally given me my life back?⁣ ⁣ A business that introduced me to my best friends, that gave me the courage and confidence to leave an unhealthy relationship & work every day on becoming my best self.⁣ ⁣ A business that allows me to dream big and will someday be the reason I get to buy & decorate my dream home, donate money to brain cancer research, golf when & where I want and of course, have my own little puppy 😝⁣ ⁣ I know there will always be people out there that will judge and think this is a scam but but see....without this business I wouldn’t have any of those things and because of that I will forever pay this forward without hesitation.

The ankle mobility AND stability gains are real. It's been 3 full months since I've caught a snatch below parallel. 3 months that I've been rehabbing my knee, being smart, and doing what I need to do to heal. . In September I started working with @mobility.coach.philion from @primal.mobility.centre, because I wanted to try a new and completely different approach to my rehab. I've tried a lot of things, and part of this process was also about ME learning some new things about mobility and stability. And I've learned a shitload. . I have mobility exercises I hit daily, as well as specific warmup and cooldown routines that are designed to be EFFICIENT but get me primed for whatever work I have that day and help me to KEEP new ranges of motion. Gone are the days of a 30-minute warm up. I'm ready to snatch heavy in 15 mins. . This video is a comparison of a 125# snatch that I did a week before Worlds and a 160# snatch that I did today. You can see when I land on the left that I initially land with my shins much more vertical due to lack of ROM in my ankles. To get into the most optimal position, you can see I have to shove the knees over the toes, and those ankles are quite unstable. This is VERY LIKELY one of the root causes of my tendinopathy. On the right you can see that the shin angle is maintained pretty much from the time I catch all the way down into the hole. I am a little Shakey, but I attribute that mostly to the fact that today is literally the first time I've locked out a snatch since 8/29. . Still some work to be done, but working with Matt 1:1 has far exceeded my expectations. WHAT A HEALTHY MEAL LOOKS LIKE by @newtonkwong ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Wherever you eat, whether at home, restaurant, friend’s place, party, there are simple rules you can follow to make sure you’re always making the healthiest choice: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1.) Fill up at least HALF your plate with VEGETABLES ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Preferably grilled with little to no added sauces, oils, butter, etc. If there’s a raw salad option, fill up on that FIRST before you eat anything else! Make sure there’s little to no dressing on it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2.) Fill up a QUARTER of your plate with PROTEIN ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Similar to above, you want to have protein that doesn’t have an excess of sauces, oils, butters. Also if go for the leaner options such as chicken or turkey if they’re available. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3.) Fill up the rest of the plate with WHOLE CARBS ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Potatoes, brown rice, lentils, beans are all great options naturally high in fiber. Limit your consumption of pastas and breads since they are lower in fiber. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4.) Eat a piece of FRUIT as your dessert ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Skip the cookies, cakes, ice cream for fruit. Much more filling, hits the sweet tooth, and less likely to give you massive food coma! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 5.) I’ve recently heard of some Business Coaches who have been doing that and teaching that even more and IT’S DEAD WRONG!! . If your coach is teaching you to push sales. Get a refund and leave. . Online has been destroyed by pushing ads in front of people and stuffing their offers in the faces of potential buyers. Which in turn has ruined online marketing. . The only way to become big time now or to get the clientele that you want is to do these three things. . Know what it is you want to do and what your purpose is. (this is sooooo important so please understand your purpose) You also need to align your purpose with your story for people to follow along with. Your story is what connects people with you. Finally you need to build relationships before you push sales. . Your story brings in your potential clients. But how you treat them and how you give to them instead of take, determines if they will continuously buy from you and also refer people to your business. . SO PLEASE!! Stop trying to sell sell sell and push your shit on people. . Be REAL. Be HUMAN. Yesterday was the first time in over 2 months that I’ve actually given ‘normal’ back squats a proper run in my training program due to a couple of factors but mainly to see how my body (hips mainly) would feel if I didn’t include them... safe to say, my body felt the same even without doing them 🙌🏾. I don’t care what you think about my body— This body of mine has gone through many, many experiences with more experiences to come. It’s gone through dieting-- unappreciation for what my body does for me, instead focusing on what it doesn’t do, what it doesn’t look like, and everything negative that I could nitpick at it. It’s gone through phases of stress-eating filled with shame, guilt, and resentment— I would put my body through 2-a-days throughout the weekdays just to binge eat and drink excessive amounts of alcohol over the weekend, to feel absolutely repulsed by my actions, and continuing the cycle again every single week. It’s gone through appreciating “the booty gains” but still nitpicking at everything else that comes with weight gain—little cellulite, more stretch marks on top of the existing ones already there, little extra pudge in the stomach area (no more abs), and overall softer features. My body has gone through a lot, all because my mind couldn’t conquer itself. There were major insecurities covered by fake self-love. The gym became a place of torture instead of a place to get lost in and love. Food became an obsessive extreme with over tracking and on the other hand, binging. This body has gone through more than enough on its own. These trying experiences that were birthed from lack of True self-love and care are why I appreciate my body for what it CAN do and for simply what it is and how healthy it REALLY is, and not just how healthy it looks. I appreciate this #thickfit movement. It allows for women to love our curves, our dimples, our perfect imperfections. It also allows for our strong bodies to be strong awhile feeling feminine and sexy in our realistic dimpled booties, waved back of our thighs, and not so wash board abs that show we actually enjoy life too. So, no… I don’t care what you think about my body anymore, because it’s more than just about ridiculous societal expectations. & neither should you. With love— A. Christmas Day is a day not to worry about portion control or tracking your food AT ALL. It’s a day to eat and drink everything in sight. But guys, as we are rapidly approaching the festive season, this is the time you should be putting the extra work in to ensure you feel great in that LBD at the work’s Christmas party. You shouldn’t be slacking just yet, you should be moving and getting yourself fit for Christmas. - Here are a few tips you should try follow for the next couple of weeks to ensure you are still staying on track. - Get out walking in the evening, drinks lots of water per day (at least 2 Litres). If you can, add an additional training day into your current routine (you’ll feel great for doing so). If you don’t want to gain weight then you either need to Maintain your Daily Calories or be in a Daily Calorie Deficit not Surplus. - Basically what I am trying to say is, put in the hard work now for a solid couple of weeks then RELAX and enjoy Christmas. You’ve worked hard all year round, a week off track won’t make a difference!!! But, you need to be consistent from now until then. 🌲 Today, I bid farewell to this amazing month Colorado. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This time away has been a dream. ☁️❄️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It also taught me some lessons I don’t think I would have have tapped into if I’d stayed in NYC: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨Making room for things that don’t serve you will bring in more things that will.✨ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was hustling HARD the last few months in NYC, unable to make a lot of time for my friends or building the passions that bring me the most fulfillment. 💪🏼🎭🎶 Hard work doesn’t always equal a greater reward. In creating my schedule for when I return, I looked closely at what I could afford to cut out to allow room for more purpose-driven work. 📆 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨Rest will make you grind harder when it’s time to work.✨ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This seems counterintuitive but it’s a lesson I keep relearning. 🧘🏼‍♀️ The guilt of being here took a couple of weeks to get past because I was so used to being BUSY. But I found that the time away, good eats, soulful talks, and deep belly laughs allowed me to work even HARDER when I set my office hours here. 🏎💨 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨Conscious gratitude will help you savor the good times.✨ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The worst part about blissful times in life is that they seem to fly. 🌬 However, when I’ve been been able to just take a breath, feel present, and give thanks here, the moments have lasted a little longer. Revel in the present instead of looking forward to the next moment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am so grateful for this incredible adventure and the lessons I get to take back with me into real life. May we all continue to have such wonderful, eye-opening experiences! 👀🤗

⚫ Tracking your workouts in a logbook of some sort is extremely useful, but there are other things that you may not have considered when it comes to tracking. . 1. For more advanced individuals who've been tracking for a while, it becomes harder and harder to improve your lifts. . That's why you need to start paying more attention to things like getting enough sleep, managing stress, hydration, getting enough calories in and even meal timing around your workouts! . If these things aren't in line they can affect your performance in the gym. . 2. Many people who track workouts can sometimes get too attached to their numbers to the point where their form goes to shit. . While the main goal is to get stronger, sacrificing your form just to add a few pounds to your lift is not a good idea nor is it effective. . It's okay to not get stronger every week. You should always prioritize form first, then weight. . The logbook can give you a lot of insight on your current training program and day to day routine. You have to humble yourself and consider other variables that go into your progression in strength. . 📢 Tag a friend who needs to see this!

TRACK YOUR PROGRESS Whether it be in the gym, beating a personal time on the track, on the scale, or just in life. —> tracking your progress is one of the best self motivators. I tried tracking my gym numbers when I first started working out, but I never really caught on because working out was mostly a side hobby. I’ve started tracking my progress through my coach and I’m telling you it will push you so much harder when you’re doing your lifts. You can do this old school with a pen and paper or you can use this app called “RepCount” either way being able to look back at your past numbers will give you incentive to try to beat it the next time around. This was a HUGE mistake I made last off season and I really didn’t see improvement in any of my lifts, I was just going with the flow. This can also be applied to the scale by writing your weight down every morning and see your goals move where you want them too. If they aren’t moving you know that something needs to change! Fitness Friday. Here are some of my tips to safely lift: . 1. Proper form. - Having the proper form is crucial to safely lift any weight. Wether it be your toddle, dumbbells, the couch to sweep under, you need to make sure it’s properly done to avoid injury. Ask your trainer or listen to your body what feels right. . 2. Mind to muscle connection. - While working a specific muscle, try to focus on that muscle and that muscle alone. -this takes practice, but makes a huge difference- Without mind to muscle connection you could end up working unnecessary muscles and cause tears. . 3. Make sure you’re stretching and warming up! - Even just a few mins helps. The blood flow to the muscles primping them to work efficiently. And stretching helps to reduce injury. . 4. Fuel afterwards. And drink water. - Drinking water and fueling your muscles help with recovery. Giving them the proper nutrients to heal will leave you less sore and ready to work that muscle group again in a few short days as opposed to a week. . Well, the past few months have been...a roller coaster. From winning my pro card to @eddiejochoa and I moving and getting our new apartment set up, it’s definitely been hard to remain focused.
