What a day. I missed last Wednesday's deadlifts so I was a bit worried about today's. I also remember that 2 weeks ago my form struggled. Completed the deadlifts barefoot. Deficit deadlifts at 225 lbs (including bar). Deficit of about 3 inches (a 45 lbs plate). I told Caleb that my first pull seemed ok but after that my back rounds, but if I reset I'm usually better. So he told me to pull, keep my hands on the bar but reset, and pull again. I still had a little bit of rounding but not as bad. So I finished my sets using that method. My last set felt pretty bad. My muscles were fatigued and it was a struggle to keep my lats engaged, my back straight, and stand, but I did it. All the rowers were being used so I switched to the assault bike. 10 calorie bike. I kept my watts at or just below 300. Russian swings with a 53 lbs kettlebell. By the 3rd round I was pretty winded. Hamstring curls with a red resistance band. I didn't feel them in my hamstrings, I felt them in my calves. Workout for the day done! Love the 🔥 with hip bridge pulses with a resistance band. Have you tried? ° HERE'S HOW: Place the band just above your knees. Lie on your back with your hands at your sides, knees bent, and feet flat on floor hip-width apart. Squeeze your glutes and abs and lift your hips a few inches off the floor. Walk your feet together. Hold the bridge, and push your knees out to the sides, keeping your feet touching. Slowly return your knees to touch for 1 rep. My favourite sit up variation - the Janda sit up! The benefits of this variation of the sit up is that it minimises hip flexor activation! The resistance band is trying to pull my lower leg forward which will cause my hamstrings to contract. Through a process called reciprocal inhibition (as one muscle contracts the opposite relaxes) the hip flexor will not be as active due to the hamstrings being contracted. Give them a try and tell me how it goes
