I love cute little positivity posters 🥰 They make me smile lately as I walk into yoga. This one though has stuck with me for months, although not exactly in a positive light. I think I’m starting to realize why... the intention (promoting taking good care of your body to help you be happy with yourself) is positive. But what if you don’t have good health or a ‘good’ body... no matter how hard you try? This implies quietly but insistently that you might never be truly happy. You are missing the very foundation, apparently. 🤷♀️ But what if some happiness can be built on the jagged rocks next to the sea... or on wooded cliffs, alive but unsteady? ⛰ It won’t look exactly the same as the stuff you once dreamed about, built a bit easier on flat clear solid ground, but it could have its own kind of delicate beauty?
It felt pretty cool to step out of a * virtual bootcamp * + into a real life one that I didn’t know what to expect 🤷🏼♀️ last night (thank god I came on Core + upper body day 😂) // During the warm up for the Bootcamp, she asked us to share “the best part of our day” + I knew I was supposed to be there, because that’s something I do every night before bed 🛌 🙏🏻 // It was SO exhilarating to push myself in a setting where I didn’t have control of what moves we were doing, what the trainer was going to tell me, or what others were gonna do! // All the grunts, laughter, cheering, encouraging, sweating, (+ maybe some swearing) was the BEST part of the whole experience ♥️ // If you don’t have a group of people who challenge you, + inspire you- then you GET YOU SOME! Had such a fun time at the Ballarat YCW Half Marathon Relays with my Evolution family tonight. 15 teams all competing for their own PB, electric atmosphere and so wonderful to see all runners cheering each other on. Thanks YCW for putting on such a brilliant event ✌️
⭐️Scoliosis & Mind to Muscle Connection⭐️ . Developing a strong mind to muscle connection is really important when you have Scoliosis. This means bringing awareness to the specific muscles being used during an exercise, and feeling them working throughout the entire course of a rep.. . You can do this by picking up a light weight, closing your eyes and concentrating on the targeted muscle group. Focus on pausing at the top of the movement and squeezing. Pick an exercise and do this for 15-20 reps before moving into your working sets.. . Tag a fit mama 🤱💗 . Today I got up at 4.30am to start my day, did pilates, then got my son ready for Kindy, sent off programs to my online clients 🤓 phew 😅 . The pace is crazy 😜 I almost forgot to enjoy the last few days of summer weather! . Every parent I speak to is trying to juggle family, work + the unexpected things that happen when you have kids! . It actually doesn’t change if you have young children, older kids or teenagers the time is all consuming it’s easy to feel guilty when you take time out for yourself😔 . Some of the challenges I’ve experienced have been frequent hospital visits for my son when he had croup, an entire year of getting 4 hours sleep 😴 since my daughter was born + simultaneously running a business + competing twice in bikini competitions💪💕 . I don’t want to cause myself stress by overloading my life, but on the other hand I absolutely love my fitness life, my business + don’t want to give up everything I love! . I’m curious do you ever feel that pull between wanting to continue your passion, work but also have a good family life 💗? Does it ever get too much for you? . Today at the beach with my baby + a girlfriend really made me happy 😆 @theactivebrunette_

Scared of coming into an industry that is “saturated” & fear of not being able to “make it”. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ By no means have I made it in the fitness industry. But in order to even think about “making it” or actually making a career in the health & fitness world, I needed to change my perspective. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Whether you’re interested in the beauty, gaming, apparel, or fitness industry, you need to change your perspective on this. Remove the idea that the industry is saturated and that there is no space for you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There might be A LOT of people doing whatever it is that you’re interested but there’s a reason why people will SUPPORT YOU, LIKE YOU & TRUST YOU. At the end of the day, it’s all in your hands. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here a simple way to stand out: ✨BE AUTHENTIC! That’s really it! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What exactly does that mean? 1️⃣ Be yourself. Don’t be or act like someone you are not. Be true to yourself & stand by who you are wherever you go. Be unapologetically you. 2️⃣ Be intentional. Know why you do what you do. Accept that not everyone is going to view life, circumstances, opinions or ideas the way you do. Accepting this will help you grow because you are open to listening to others and not judging. 4️⃣ Value experiences. Acknowledge that experiences fill your heart with joy and richness. Every experience is a new opportunity to grow, internally and externally. 5️⃣ Live by your core values. Get clear on what you stand by and for. Doing so will allow you to be transparent and vulnerable. All the words, stories, and authors that have filled this training cycle. For me, marathoning has always been just as much of a mental outlet as it is a physical outlet. This time around I was very intentional about filling my mind with words from runners, sports psychologists, successful female authors, and a little bit of Bill Murray 🤷🏻♀️ I challenged myself to read and learn as much as possible, which helped to push me in my training, my career, and my personal life the past few months. This spring season, I am letting go of feeling lonely so that I can grow. I recognize that many of the actions (habits) that I would like to let go of, all stem from a feeling of loneliness. Remember that our actions are driven by our emotions, so if there is an action you are trying to let go of, can you pinpoint the emotion that drives the action? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I am binging on screentime, sugar, sleep, superfluous spending, and other actions that bring very little return, it is because at that moment I feel disconnected. Disconnected from myself or others, this disconnection is what creates the feeling of being alone. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This season I will choose to connect to myself or something bigger before choosing the not-so-loving actions I'm aiming to release. I will meditate, journal, do yoga, go outside to be with Mother Nature and see if I can create a more positive emotion to help drive more positive actions. I will remind myself that I am never alone, that I am always connected to everyone and everything on this planet and to my Higher Self. The final 2 days of fight camp are the worst. Limited calories, limited water, and depending on the morning weigh in, less or more cardio. You're tired, hungry, and hangry. Last early early morning of this fight prep. Despite the exhaustion, he is pushing through those walls. Sometimes you stumble but you just take a moment, take a deep breath, and get yourself up and finish. Looking strong, powerful, and fast! Final set of 4. Trust me, these tire flips are heavy AF! I only did 2 to reset the course and it was questionable if I was going to succeed. Early morning workout. Warm up: 10 min Assault Bike WOD: for time 4 sets, 3 min rest between sets 60' sprint 60' gorilla sandbag drag 60' tire flip 60' box jump, speed ladder, sprint Cool down: 1000 m row Then 30 min stairmaster hell at Planet Fitness. Last set, digging deep to beat his first set at 1:00.12.
