For this week’s Wandering Wednesday, our nanny, JL, brought Teddy and Lottie to the Discovery Museum in Acton, MA! This small museum is like a hidden gem – and JL and the kids had an absolute blast. Outside of the museum is “Discovery Woods” that is complete with an awesome treehouse and play area. Apparently it was created by The Treehouse Guys on the “DIY Network”! Super cool … Inside the museum there were two floors with many themed rooms (and easy elevator access for those with wheelchairs or strollers!) Teddy LOVED the play areas – including “Bessie’s House” and the Train Room. He was moderately obsessed (to put it lightly) with the camping room and the diner. Upstairs was a surprise pirate ship – and Teddy loved using the steering wheel to drive the ship. He would climb the ladder and sit in the boat with his skipper, Lottie. Speaking of Lottie – even at 7 months old, there was so much for her to see! There’s also a play area for younger kids and infants. In addition to the great play spaces, there were also so many kid friendly activities and toys: science activities, magnets, sand spinners, balls and ramps, air flow and water table. For your budding artist, there were tables FILLED with craft supplies and themes. There was also a dark room that served as a good introduction to colors, lights and shadows. The one note is that there isn’t a great place to eat lunch during this time of year, since it’s too chilly to sit outside. So for those colder months, be sure to pack a light “snack-filled” lunch that isn’t too messy! Such a fun afternoon … we give the Discovery Museum six thumbs up!

Well this pic was taken when we were hitchhiking to the magical kookal village, where there are no malls, no fancy restaurants, no fastfood, no crowds.
Only amazing natural beauty. Fresh, clean air. Unbeaten paths and clear vistas as far as the eye can see. ⠀It was raining profusely and we were drenched in rain, even though the magical valley and breathtaking nature made us to complete our hike,we reached our cottage with all our commodities wet.
Started our hike from the junction of kookal and mannvannur around 11 o clock in the morning,There was no vehicles and all I could hear was the whistling sound of the wind, rain and chirping of the birds. There was a certain refreshing fragrance in the air that you only find in kodai
we walked in rain for around 10kms to reach kookal, and it was an awesome experience and we felt as if we are washing all our sorrows away.
It was around 2 o Clock in the noon when we reached the cottage and we were shivering like hell and it took around 1 hour to acclimitize and feel normal.
